NIA files charge against 3 accused of hurling bombs at MLA Singh’s office

The National Investigation Agency NIA has filed charges against three suspects accused of hurling bombs adjacent to the gate of the office of Shri Pawan Kumar Singh, MLA of West Bengal Legislative Assembly on 08.09.2021.

The Daily Vendor Newspaper learnt that the act was targeted at the MLA Singh and his family members. 

The suspects names were given as Sonu Jaiswal @ Telua S/o Samraj @ Shyam Raj Jaiswal (Juvenile), Arif Akhtar @ Chand @ Chana S/o Akhtar Ali, Rahul Kumar @ Rahul Saroj @ Rahul Pasi S/o Dipak Pasi u/s 436, 201 read with 34 of IPC and Section 3 & 4 of Explosive Substances Act.

They were charged before the NIA Special Court, Kolkata.

A case No. 686/2021 dated 08.09.2021, was registered at Jagaddal PS, District North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal which was re-registered by NIA as RC-21/2021/NIA-DLI on 14.09.2021. 

Investigation has revealed that all three accused persons had conspired to commit the crime by using explosives with an intent to destroy the property. 

This case was related to bombing by some criminals near the entry gate of one MLA’s office in September 2021 and mostly the target was the MLA and his family.  Firstly the case was registered at one of the local police station and later on, it was handed over to the NIA.
