Ngige/Faleke: Group condemns attack on Ngige, demands probe

A pan Igbo grassroot socio-cultural organization, Imeobi Igbo Forum has condemned the recent attack on the person of Minister of Labor and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige during the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund(NSITF) National Assembly probe.

It urged members of the House of Representatives to call Hon. James Faleke to order.

In a statement signed by the Forum’s President, Dr Mike Ikegulu and Secretary, Barr. Chibuike Nwabueze, the group said the Minister has done so well for the nation and deserved the respect of Faleke and all Nigerians.

” We urge the House to investigate the origin of this irresponsible and unwarranted insult and call Faleke to order. Those irrelevant questions were clearly geared to riddicle and reduce the person of the Honorable Minister”.

“What has the NSITF enquiry got to do with elections in the Minister’s constituency? That style of childish questioning which is more like an attack dog trivializes the weightier matters of looted trillions of the people’s money at NDDC, NSITF and EFCC before the House.

“The Honorable Minister has done so well for this country cosidering his sensitive job having brought honor to the country in international labor matters, while maintaining peace at the local labor market. Ngige deserves the respect of Faleke and all Nigerians”.

The group further regretted that those privileged to find themselves in the hallowed Chambers could drag its reputation to the mud if not checked.
