A 29 -year -old primary schoolteacher of the Sudan United Mission Primary School in Agwatashi , Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State , has been arrested for defiling a 15 -year -old pupil .
The suspect , Alaga Solomon , was said to have committed the offence on August 14 , 2020 .
The victim reportedly said Solomon sent her to bring a broom from the classroom after the school hours.
She told the police that the teacher followed and defiled her in the classroom .
A source said Solomon , who is married with children, had in the past been reported to the council Chairman , Mr Muhammad Iyimoga -Oyigye, for similar acts .
Confirming the incident , the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel , said , “ A case of rape was reported on August 16 , 2020 , that , one Alaga Solomon on August 14 , lured and unlawfully had canal knowledge of a 15 -year – old girl at Agwatashi .
“The Commissioner of Police , Bola Longe , has directed a thorough investigation into the matter .”
