The Consular-General of Nigeria in Guangzhou, China, Mr Anozie Cyril Madaubuchi has confronted the Chinese government officials for evicting Nigerians in the country from their homes and subsequently attempting to place them under quarantine.
This is coming days after a video of Nigerians in China were being sent out of their apartments went viral on social media.
The consular accused the Chinese officials of targeting Nigerians in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic which sadly emanated from the country.
Anozie noted that no Chinese national in Nigeria has been served the same treatment. While pointing out that same act is not meted out to citizens of other countries.
In one of the videos obtained by THE DAILY VENDOR, the consular was seen forcibly retrieving passports belonging to Nigerians already seized by the Chinese officials.
Ambassador Anozie argued that most Nigerians who were victims of the Chinese government’s harassment live in China and have not been out of the country in the last four months.
He further queried why the Chinese government is attempting to re-quarantine some Nigerians who visited the country for business, even after they had undergone the compulsory 14 days isolation and subsequent screening.
