Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Dr George Moghalu has commiserated with family of Late Mr Cosmas Eze, former Assistant Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Late Eze, who doubled as Coordinator of George Moghalu Campaign Organisation in the area was shot dead last month by unknown gunmen on his way to a function in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the deceased family at his residence in Oba, Moghalu elougized late Eze for being on the side of truth and unity at all times, describing him as true party man with integrity.
He expressed sadness over the untimely death, assuring the family of his support in the burial as well as taking care of his son’s education.
He said, “I am here today to get the details of what happened. Listening to you, I am heartbroken. I can feel your pain and appreciate your anger. I want to assure the family that I will always be available to them to render my support in any way it may be needed.
“The only crime Cosmas committed was he drove a Branded Vehicle. I pray God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and give the family fortitude to bear the loss. I urge the family to be strong and united as always.”
Responding, wife to the deceased, Mrs Amaka Eze thanked Moghalu for condoling with the family during the trying time, despite his tight schedule, praying God to always guide and protect him.
The NIWA boss was accompanied by Rev Uche Ibeabuchi, Federal Character Commissioner for Anambra State, Hon Alaoma and many others.
