The orgy of violence against the police continue as the Sokoto Police Command, confirmed that mob on Tuesday 27 April 2021 attacked the Kware Divisional Police station, located in Kware local government area of Sokoto State.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) , ASP Abubakar Sanusi confirmed the incident
He said that one person died and the station and two vehicles were set on fire as a result of the mob action.
He said the mob was at the station demanding the release of two kidnap suspects, who were arrested and being investigated for their alleged involvement in kidnapping in the area.
He explained that the mob, mostly youths, were shouting and insisting that the two suspects be released.
The Daily Vendor was informed that the mob action was a case of jungle justice .
The PPRO said the mob overpowered the operatives that were guarding the station and burnt it down along with the DPO’s car and two police vans.
He added that they succeeded in killing one of the suspects and wounded the other.
Sanusi, however, said no arrest had been made but investigation was ongoing.
