The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Nigerian Army have convened to strategise on ways to defeat Boko Haram terrorists in the Lake Chad region and Mandara Hills.
MNJTF says the strategy would enhance military operations, including information and intelligence sharing to end the war.The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Farouk Yahaya, disclosed this at the weekend, while hosting Camerounian Joint Military Delegation (CJMD), led by Maj-Gen. Saly Muhamadou, at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, the state capital.
According to Muhamadou, the visit to Theatre Command in Nigeria was to strengthen the relationship among MNJTF member countries of Cameroun, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria.
He said, “It will further enhance military operations to fight the common enemy, the Boko Haram.”
Commander of Sector 1, Operation Emergency Cameroun, Brig-Gen. Buba Dobekreo, also stated that they were in Nigerian to give more information on Boko Haram’s threats to people’s lives and property in the two countries.
