‘Mmirioma’ rents the air as Hon. Chidoka commissions water project in Umuoji

As part of their appreciation for the quality and holistic representation, the people of Abidi community in Umuoji town, Idemili North Local Goverment Area, Anambra State, on Friday, gave Hon. Obinna Chidoka, member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives a new name, MMIRIOMA na Idi Eze. 

Hon Chidoka had embarked on provision of essential social amenities to communities under his constituency and  Abidi community of Umuoji town is one of those fortunate to enjoy Chidoka’s one of a kind borehole project.

The legislator had during the February 25 election campaign, promised to install a solar powered borehole in the Abidi hall with a project completion time of two weeks. 

It was on the above premise that the five star lawmaker ensured he delivered as promised, even after the electioneering season.

Recall that the ranking lawmaker had renovated the once dilapidated Anogu Civic center in Anogu, Umuoji to a magnificent building fully air-conditioned.

Ife Idemili did not stop there, he installed solar powered street lights at the Mater Amabilis All Girls Catholic School in Umuoji to improve security and learning within and around the school premises housing over 1000 students.

He also installed solar powered street lights to boost economic activities at the Orie Umuoji market. 

Speaking on behalf of the Abidi community, the village chairman, Onuorah Bartholomew noted that the community considers Hon. Chidoka a son of the community and as such, his election loss was a loss for every member of the community.

He however urged Chidoka to remain steadfast noting that the future is bright for him.

Also speaking,  the Ichie Idi of Abidi noted that Chidoka has written his name in gold in the Abidi hall as well as in the community. Adding that his picture will be hung in the hall as a sign of their appreciation and recognition of his achievements in the community.

In their vote of thanks, the lawmaker was applauded for his laudable feats and a befitting he- Goat  presented to him as token of appreciation.

Concluding, Idi noted that the chieftaincy title ‘Mmirioma Idi’ will be officially conferred on Chidoka at a later date. 

Speaking, Hon. Obinna Chidoka noted that when he visited the Abidi hall about a month ago and promised to construct a solar powered borehole for them within a shortest period, many thought it was a mere campaign promise, made to woo voters. But he noted that today, he is glad that he has delivered as promised, and in record time, even after losing the election.

Hon. Chidoka noted that his words remain his bond, adding that with his experience and connections in the National Assembly, he will still do all he can to attract more projects to the people.

Also Present at the commissioning ceremony were the president general of Umuoji Improvement Union, represented by the Financial Secretary, Engr Emeka Enu,  Ezeana A E Obi, Ezenwamadu, among others.
