In appreciation of his philanthropic gesture to the needy and indigent women, the Lagos State government under the leadership of Gov. Jide Sanwo-Olu has written a thank you letter to the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka.
The letter dated 11th August 2021 was signed by Dr M.A. Adebayo the Medical Director/CEO of Alimosho General Hospital, which was one of the hospitals visited by friends and followers of Chidoka in Lagos State.
Copy of the letter obtained by The Daily Vendor stated thus:
“We write to acknowledge the receipt of sixty thousand Naira (N60,000) only donated to assist six indigent patients.
“Accept the profound gratitude of management for your philanthropic gesture and the zeal to bring succor to the needy in the society. We appreciate your selfless and caring spirit and pray that the Almighty God bless you abundantly.”
In his reaction to the thank you letter, Chief Chidoka who was also a former Corps Marshall of Federal Road Safety Corps said that the simple letter of appreciation from Lagos State tells the story of the quality of the state bureacracy.
“Gov. Jide Sanwo-Olu is running a good shop maintaining and running a working system. Well done. Simple act of replying a letter, in Nigeria, is a mark of functioning system in the public sector.
“I grew up in William Layout Akowonjo in Alimosho LGA and happy we reached the women there during my birthday.” Chief Chidoka noted.
It would be recalled that Chief Chidoka visited three hospitals each in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT through his friends and followers on 18th July to mark his birthday.
Cash and gift items were given to women who put to bed on that day, indigents patients also got help from the former Minister.
