Movement for the Actualization of a Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has condemned Sunday killings of IPOB miners by security agents.
MASSOB leader Uchenna Madu in an exclusive chat with newsmen expressed surprise that security agents would readily shoot and kill pro Biafra agitators who have carried out their activities peaceful.
Said he; “it is well known that pro Biafra groups do not carry weapons yet they will use guns on our people buy they can’t do the same to Fulani herdsmen who have been terrorising our people even in Enugu.
“Our people have been killed and maimed and the South East Governors are not saying anything.
“I am speaking because any harm done to any pro Biafra group is an attack on all of us in the struggle and I warn the police and other agencies to leave our people alone.
“He warned that no intimidation would cow the agitators and called for caution as ‘nobody has monopoly for violence.
” Look at the IPOB members they paraded in Enugu, they did not have any weapon on yet police opened gun on them killing as many as they wanted just because they were holding meeting. Why can’t they use that force and go flush out Book Haram in the North.
” This Enugu massacre is a step too far and the leaders of pro Biafra group will meet and take a far reaching decision on it.”
IPOB claims that 21 of its members were massacred in Enugu and 47 arrested while police claim they only killed 2 IPOB members.
The police also claim that IPOB killed 2 DSS operatives and two other just as they claimed to have rescued one of the kidnapped DSS operatives from IPOB.
