‘Five family members died on the spot, and four others were rushed to the hospital’
Nagazi community in Adavi Local Goverment Area of Kogi State has been thrown into a pensive mood as nine members of the same family reportedly died under mysterious circumstances.
They include five children of the same parents, and four others.
It was gathered that the incident, which happened on Monday evening, saw five family members dying at a spot before four others were rushed to the hospital.
Sources claimed that the remaining four later died at an undisclosed hospital in the area.
This is coming few days after four family members died after eating ‘amala’ in the Mopa, Mopa Amuro LGA of Kogi State at the weekend.
However, unlike the Mopa Amuro death, it was not immediately clear if the they ate any food before death started its visit, but high possibility of food poisoning is being suspected according to a source.
A family source who craved anonymity said the father of the deceased victims had been arrested, while the mother was still receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
All efforts to speak with the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) William Aya could not be reached for police angle of the report at the time of filing this report.
