PAKISTAN: Losing candidates and their supporters on Tuesday held a token strike at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal bazaar after they submitted application to stop results of Chairmanship slot.
Hundreds of supporters led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf senior leader Shahid Khan Shinwari in a procession went to the election commission of Pakistan office in Lamdikotal and chanted slogans angainst the alleged rigging by election staff.
All the losing candidates jointly filed an application asking the election commission of Pakistan to stop the official results of the chairmainship slot and conduct inquiry against alleged invlovement of election staff.
Later they gathered at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal bazaar and recorded their protest.
Awami National Party Khyber district president Shah Hussain Shinwari, PTI leader Shahid Khan Shinwari and other spoke on the public gathering. They said that the so-called winning candidate used unfair means to win the election. They said if re-polling was not conducted they would be compelled to stage protest and block the Peshawar-Torkham road.
Shah Hussain and Shahid said they would held a meeting with all the candidates to chalk out further strategy for next step if their demands was not accepted.
