Liverpool, Man City Clash: Liverpool advised not to concentrate on the new City sensation, Haaland

“If you stop De Bruyne, you take 50 per cent away from Haaland,” Carragher hints Liverpool

Ahead the premiership tie between Liverpool and Manchester City, the former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has advised the team not to focus on Erling Haaland when they face Manchester City on Sunday.

Instead, he has said Kevin De Bruyne is the player to stop in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

According to Carragher, if you stop De Bruyne, “you take 50 per cent away from Haaland”.

Haaland has already netted 20 times for City this season and is the in-form striker in European football.

Carragher said “I’d almost be more focused on De Bruyne rather than Haaland in this game. If you stop De Bruyne, you take 50 per cent away from Haaland as well as the connection the two have got is there already.

“Yes, Haaland has been an absolute sensation in the Premier League but he needs servicing and you can’t get anyone better than De Bruyne.”
