…Tehsil chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari led the rally
LANDIKOTAL: Local Bodies members on Monday staged a rally in Landikotal to record their protest against the non-issuence of funds and other previllages to them.
Tehsil chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari led the rally which was participated by a large number of villages,unions and chairmans from different neighborhoods in Landikotal.
The local bodies representatives marched from Tehsil Municipal Office(TMO) and gathered at Levies gate in Landikotal official compound. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in their favor and against provincial government.
Speaking on the occasion, tehsil chairman Shah Khalid Shinwsri said that they had taken oath a year ago but yet not alloted them offices to work for their voters and supporters. He said they did not know their authoroties and responsibilities as elected members of the tehsil council.
He demanded of the concern quarters and officials to release funds for the the local bodies members so that they could address some long awaited problems.
The tehsil chairman announced sit-in at the front of chief minister’s house in Peshawar. He urged other tehsil chairmans,mayors and other council members to participate in their sut-in which would be started from November 24.He said their aggitation would be continued till the acception of their constitutional demands.
Later, tehsil chairman Shah Khalid along with other council members handed over their demands to assistant commissioner of Landikotal Muhammad Irshad Ali Mohmand.
Landikotal youth died in Bosnia laid to rest: Ajirullah Shinwari,23, had died in Bosnia last week when a boat carrying illegal immigrants capsized in a water channel. They were on the way to Europe.His body was recovered after hectic efforts of the local authorities for several days and shifted to Pakististan today.
The slain Landikotal youth was laid to rest in Landikotal in his ancestral graveyard.
