LANDIKOTAL: Local government representatives on Monday staged protest demonstration and observed the December 19, as black day.
A large number of village and neighbourhood councilor and tehisil chairman staged protest at Landikotal official compound. They were holding black flags and chanted slogans against the privincial government. They also marched in the official compound.
Speaking on the occasion, tehsil chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari said they had been elected a year before. He said after the completion of a year local government representatives were not issued a single penny to work for their voters and supporters. He said they were not alloted offices and privilages that should be given on time.
“It is the contitutional right to provide provide all kinds of support to the elected councilors and tehsil chairmen but unfortunately the government failed to provide them event their business rulles so far”, tehsil chairman Shah Khalid said.
He added constitutionally local government member was reponsible for developmental projects but provincial government making different lame excuses to issue funds. He said residents were raising voices for their villages development but they had no answers of their genuine rights.
