Lagos, FCT lead as NCDC confirms upsurge of COVID 19 in Nigeria

Lagos State and the FCT have yet again taken the lead as Nigeria continues to confirm upsurge of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the country recorded another 220 fresh cases of COVID 19 on Saturday, May 2.

THE DAILY VENDOR reports that the NCDC had on Friday May 1, confirmed the report of 238 new cases of the virus in the country, with Kano State taking the lead with 92 cases and FCT coming second with 36 cases, while Lagos came third with 30 cases.

But in what appears a miracle, the centre reported yet another 220 new cases with Lagos accounting for 62 and the FCT accounting for 52, while Kano could be said to be invisible in the present breakdown with only 2 new cases.

According to NCDC “220 new cases of #COVID19; 62-Lagos 52-FCT 31-Kaduna 13-Sokoto 10-Kebbi 9-Yobe 6-Borno 5-Edo 5-Bauchi 4-Gombe 4-Enugu 4-Oyo 3-Zamfara 2-Nasarawa 2-Osun 2-Ebonyi 2-Kwara 2-Kano 2-Plateau 2388 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria Discharged: 385 Deaths: 85.”

“Two cases previously reported in Katsina were repeat tests. Therefore, as at 11:55pm May 2 2020, Katsina State has a total of 38 confirmed cases.”
