Lagos COVID 19 toll nears 1000, as confirmed cases hit 1728 in Nigeria

Lagos residents in fear following continues increase in the number of COVID 19 positive cases recorded daily in the state.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet at about 11:55pm confirmed that the country has recorded fresh 196 COVID 19 cases on Wednesday, out of which Lagos alone accounted for 87.

THE DAILY VENDOR reports that of the 64 new COVID 19 cases reported in Nigeria on Monday, Lagos alone accounted for 34, and on Tuesday, of the 195 cases recorded in the country, NCDC confirmed that Lagos accounted for 80 cases.

Meanwhile, the NCDC puts the total number of the COVID 19 confirmed cases in the country at 1728, and Lagos state accounts for 931 of that figure.

Sharing the below picture on its Twitter handle, the NCDC gave Nigerians a heartfelt message, while asking us to obey public health regulations, and reminding us that the disease can affect anyone.
