…says assassination of the town union PG created severe tension in the area for two consecutive days
Traditional ruler of Obosi community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III on Wednesday said people of the community know killers of President-General of town union, Chief Ikechukwu Osakwe.
He said himself, his cabinet members and other law abiding citizens of the town know the identities of notorious cultists.
Speaking to newsmen at his Palace, Iweka regretted that assassination of their town union PG had created severe tension in the area for two consecutive days.
He however revealed that the community has submitted names of the suspects and the rampaging cultists to law enforcement agencies for arrest, questioning and possible prosecution.
He said, “The activities of the cultists have become too inexplicable that law abiding citizens of Obosi no longer sleep with their two eyes closed, to the extent that they kill and maim people almost on daily basis.
“We appeal to Governor Chukwuma Soludo and heads of security agencies in the state, including the police, DSS, Army, Navy to come to our rescue before these deadly cultists wipe out the entire citizenry.”
Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the suspects were yet to be arrested, but added that investigations had commenced.
