Some residents of President Muhammadu Buhari’s homestate of Kastina State on Saturday blocked the highway passing through Jibia community to Katsina, the state capital, and other parts of the state to protest against daily attacks, kidnappings and rape by bandits.

Many of the people who were speaking in Hausa said they are living in fears because of the nefarious activities of these hoodlums.

The people, who are from Yangayya district, rendered many travellers and commuters within the state stranded.

They vowed that they would not open the road nor return to their houses until government takes action to protect them from incessant bandit attacks.

Meanwhile some members of the Katsina State House of Assembly have lamented what they termed worsening insecurity situation in the state, saying …Both President Buhari and Governor Aminu Masari have failed in securing the lives and property of Katsina State citizens.

Speaking with The Daily Vendor on anonimity a member said “”people are being killed on a daily basis but nothing has been done””

According to him most of the villages in some local governments are under bandits attack as the lives and property of the villagers are not safe.

This is being worsened by the ravaging COVID 19 cases which is spreading in the community.
