…the fire started from one of the ABS buildings before spreading
A section of the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), the state government owned broadcast station was on Monday gutted by fire.
The fire which reportedly started in the early hours of the day, emanated from one of the buildings in the station before spreeding to other sections.
The source said fire fighters battled to put out the fire for six hours before it was eventually brought to a halt.
The cause of the fire could not be ascertained neither has the management of the station stated the cause at the time of filling the report.
But the Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu was reported to have expressed shock over the incident, but thanked God that no life of any member staff of the establishment was lost.
Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu was also said to have visited the scene over the unfortunate incident.
