About 14 lawmakers of the Edo State House of Assembly, loyal to former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, shot out of the inauguration of the assembly have been purportedly sworn-in in Benin, the state capital.

The newly inaugurated lawmakers, including three others who had earlier sworn allegiance to Osagie Ize-Iyamu, after the ceremony which held at a private residence in Benin, declared that the Speaker, Francis Okiye and his deputy, Roland Asoro were impeached.

During the ceremony, the 14 lawmakers were the first to be sworn-in followed by the other three whom recently pledged allegiance to Ize-Iyamu.

The Assemblymen subsequently, selected Victor Edoror (Esan Central constituency) as speaker and Emmanuel Agbaje (Akoko-Edo constituency II) as deputy speaker.
