Jubilation in Enugu school as Foundation offers scholarships to indigent students

It was jubilation galore in Community Secondary School, Ndiagu Amechi in Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State following scholarship offer to ten indigent students by a non-governmental organisation, JESUNIC Foundation to enable them achieve a world-class education.

The beneficiaries drawn across the five states of Anambra, Enugu, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi are studying at Community Secondary School, Ndiagu Amechi in Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Managing Director of the Foundation, Comrade John Paul Egbo told newsmen in Awka that the group’s aim is to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) focused on education, women empowerment and community development across the country.

He said, “This is evident in our various projects such as scholarships for indigent students, vocational school for women and girls, empowerment of widows, provision of clean water and sanitation, medical aid and support and other outreaches to schools and villages.

“This is a unique approach to reaching our world that other non-governmental organisations can emulate to achieve the greater good for the greatest number of Nigerians.”

While disclosing that the scholarship was purely for students/wards from less privileged homes with financially incapacitated parents/guardians, Egbo
charged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the school as they grow to be men and women of sound character.

He further praised Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for providing enabling environment for seamless attainment of all round education in the state, assuring continuity of the programme targeted at encouraging students to remain steadfast in making their respective states proud.

Responding, the students showered praises and prayers on the benefactor, calling on other philanthropists to emulate John-Paul so as to improve education sector in the state.
