It was celebration galore in Ezioka village in Isuofia community in Aguata local Government Area of Anambra State following the distribution of food items to over two hundred households by a philanthropist and the President General of the community, Mr Jude Okeke.

The items which included Onions, tubbers of yam, beans, cartons of Noddles and face masks were distributed to the beneficiaries which included a 160-year old man in the community.

Presenting the items to the recepients, Okeke said the gesture was targeted at the less privileged and vulnerable ones to cushion the impact of the coronavirus on them.

He said the items were fully handed over to a Non Governmental Organisation, Zaram Life Foundation to ensure the raw foods were evenly distributed to the right people who were in dire need of them.

Also speaking, Chief Executive of Zaram Life Foundation, Eucheria Onyemobi regretted the level of vulnerable persons in the area, calling on other wealthy individuals to remember such persons especially during the period of the scourge.

She expressed hope that the relief materials would go a long way to assuaging the pains of indigent ones in the community.

She said, “We made sure we visited the entire villages in Isuofia within the two days we spent there. The distribution was really an eye opener to Zaram Life Foundation as we met so many vulnerable persons who do not have what to eat especially during this pandemic period.

“I encourage the wealthy ones to always make sure whatever they have for the poor gets to them through a proper channel.”

One of the beneficiaries, a 160-year old man, Godwin Okafor commended Zaram Life Foundation for making sure that what was meant for them got to the people without any story of diversion or shortage.
