Thugs loyal to Imo State Lawmaker, Kennedy Ibeh’s have reportedly beating up a Journalist at the All Progressives Congress Secretariat in Imo State, for publishing a story against the Lawmaker representing Obowo State Constituency.
Mr Finian Chuks, the publisher of Newsfield Magazine and Newspapers, was said to have been accosted by the Lawmaker over a publication he made against him, following which the thugs pounced on him and brutally beating him to almost coma while the Lawmaker watched.
The report revealed that the publisher had last week published a story alleging that Kennedy Ibeh was behind Speaker Chiji Collin’s certificate scandal.
The DAILY VENDOR learnt that “irked by the said report, the Lawmaker and his thugs plotted and hatched their plot at the Imo State APC Secretariat where Finian was brutally battered with blows, plastic chairs, clubs and pen knife in the full glare of Commissioners, Appointees, Decampees and other attendees at the Secretariat.”
Finian’s cell phone, midget and other personal gadgets were forcefully taken away from him by his attackers while the beating lasted, it was gathered.
“But for the grace of God and timely intervention of other Journalists on ground to cover the cross carpeting of PDP members to the APC at the Secretariat, Finian would have lost his life.
Finian in company of some Journalists had lodged an official complaint at the Shell Camp Police Station, Owerri.
