The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the Ihiala Federal House of Representative’s constituency, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam, says it is time to clean and rebuild Ihiala.

Barr Maduakolam’s position was contained in his new year message to his constituents, copies of which were made available to journalists in Ihiala.

The House of Reps hopeful, while thanking God for his mercies on the constituents, also appreciated Ndị Ihiala for their unflinching support and resolve to CLEAN Ihiala.

“Dear brothers and sisters,

It is, with a great sense of purpose and hope for a prosperous homeland, that I address you today.  Introspecting through the years that have gone by, I couldn’t be soberer over the sorry situation of our people and constituency – the torments, the horror, the sleepless nights, and the avoidable ugly incidences. Things have become worse, and our leaders have left us hopeless.

“Indeed, things have fallen apart, but the question, “why have our current elected political leaders abandoned us to our fates” remains unanswered. For how long should we entertain their excuses? Should we fold our arms and allow the situation to degenerate? I do not think the answer is positive. Thus, our resolve to “clean” our Ihiala and restore its glories.

“To our brothers and sisters living outside our constituency, most of you could not join us at the annual yuletide celebration because of the insecurity at home. It is terrible that our Ihiala is soaked with the blood of our innocent people. However, our elected representatives who should stand by us have abandoned us to our fate. They have become withdrawn and left us without any direction.  We cannot continue this way.” The Anambra-based lawyer said.

The YPP House of Reps candidate said that 2023 is very critical to Nigeria in general and the Ihiala constituency in particular.

“It is a year to choose either to continue this way or to make a positive change in the interest of our land, children and generations to come. It is a year to CLEAN and rebuild our Ihiala through Creative Economy, Leadership, Education, Agriculture and Naissant infrastructures, all for the development of our LG. It is a year to engage critical stakeholders to restore peace and tranquillity to our homeland.

“I challenge every son and daughter of Ihiala LG to get involved because, in 2023, we will CLEAN Ihiala and set her on the path of progress. With you, we shall bring about meaningful changes that will impact the lives of our people in their various sectors. A CLEANer Ihiala begins with you, and with your support, we can realise our collective dream of development as a people only if we get involved. If you are involved, our Ihiala will elect the best and most qualified leaders. With everyone on board, we will never allow mediocrity to represent our interests or let our people suffer because of the ineptitude of our leaders.

“The journey to reclaim and CLEAN Ihiala is a journey of no retreat, no surrender! I have gone too far that to turn back from this struggle becomes impossible! Our obligation to the future generation of Ihiala LG is hinged on our resolve to CLEAN Ihiala. We can do this together and with your support. Therefore, I urge everyone to obtain the PVCs and get ready to vote on election day. I have presented myself because I have what it takes to turn the situation around for good.” Barr Maduakolam asserted.
