Imo power outage: EEDC orders staff to resume work

…Labour Union asks TCN to restore supply immediately to enable the EEDC distribute power to its customers

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has directed its staff to immediately resume normal duties at their respective districts in Imo State.

The directive followed suspension of the industrial action by Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Imo State.

Head, Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh in a statement, said Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has been informed by the Labour Union to restore supply immediately to enable the EEDC distribute power to its customers.

The statement reads, “An understanding was reached yesterday (Tuesday) between Imo State government and Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) to suspend the industrial action in Imo State.

“Imo State government was given two weeks to harmonize and implement all issues raised by the Labour Union.

“As a result, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has been informed by the Labour Union to restore supply immediately to enable the  Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC distribute power to its customers.

“All staff of EEDC are expected to immediately resume normal duties at their respective districts in Imo State.”
