Imo Council Of Traditional Rulers Denies Monarch Allegedly Involved In Kidnapping

The Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers have stated that the suspected kidnapper from Obor Awarra in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo state, Andrew Okuegbunuwa, is not a traditional ruler in the state.

The council made the disclaimer through a radio broadcast signed by the secretary of community policing committee, Eze Lucky Okoro.

The statement noted that although the said kidnap suspect is from Obor Awarra in Ohaji/Egbema LGA, he was never a traditional ruler recognized by the council.

According to the broadcast, members of the state council of traditional rulers are revered individuals whose cardinal duties are to advocate for peace and crime free society.

The body of traditional rulers in the state further condemned the impersonation done with the revered institution, calling on the general public to disregard the claim by the suspect of being a traditional ruler.
