If You Come To My State, I Will Face You – Fayose Warns Governor Makinde

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has warned the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to keep off from the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ekiti State.

This, he disclosed on Wednesday, at the meeting of the National delegates of the PDP, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In attendance at the meeting were chairmen of the party in Ekiti, Osun, Lagos and Ogun, and was held at the PDP secretariat in the state.

Addressing the gathering, Fayose insisted that Makinde had no right to interfere with local politics in other states of the South West.

The former governor while agreeing that Makinde is the only PDP governor in the South West currently, however said that he should give every state the freedom to be governed by its local leaders.

Fayose maintained that he is ready to fight anyone who plans to take over the structure of the Ekiti PDP from him.

He revealed that there has been a cold war of who become(s) the executive members of the zone.

He alleged that Makinde demanded that the zonal executive should be dissolved for a caretaker committee, adding that since the caretaker committee came on board, Makinde “has not allowed them to function because he produced the chairman.”

He said:“Nobody should come to my state, if you come to my state, I will face you squarely.”

The DAILY VENDOR reports that the meeting was attended by Engr. Deji Doherty, Sikirullahi Ogundele, Sunday Olatunde Akanfe and Bisi Kolawole – the PDP Chairmen for Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti states respectively.

We further gathered that at the end of the meeting, it was resolved that no state chapter of the party should be interfered by another.

The Chairmen agreed that the existing zoning formula for the zonal executives of the party should not be changed.

They agreed that: “the Eddy Olafeso-led zonal executive only spent two years from November 2017 till date and should be allowed to complete the very credible job they’ve commenced in the South West.”
