BREAKING: How unknown gunmen in APC kidnapped Okorocha’s son-in-law

There was palpable tension in Imo State on Sunday following the abduction of Uche Nwosu, a former governorship candidate in Imo state and the son-in-law to the former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, from a church service.

The Daily Vendor Newspaper learnt that the incident happened at his hometown, Eziama Obieri in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that Nwosu and his family were at St Peter’s Anglican church for a thanksgiving service when the gunmen, who were said to have arrived the scene in an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and Hilux vans.

According to sources, security operatives attached to the former guber candidate watched without resisting the attack or engaging the gun-wielding persons.

The gunmen shot indiscriminately before taking their target away.

While some of Nwosu’s associates alleged that he was kidnapped, others alleged that his arrest was masterminded by the state governor, Hope Uzodinma.

But the state commissioner for Information and strategy, Declan Emelumba in a swift reaction, however said that the governor had no hand in what happened.

While Emelumba could not confirm if it was an arrest or a kidnap incident, he said that it was “ridiculous” to allege that the governor had a hand in the disappearance of Nwosu.

When contacted by reporters, the police spokesperson for the command Micheal Abattam, said that he was not aware of the incident.

He however promised to update newsmen once he was briefed by security operatives in whose division the incident happened.
