It is usually annoying and frustrating when you receive that notification from the blue app announcing that your Facebook group has been disabled.
I feel your pain, but it is however important to understand that having your Facebook group disabled is not necessarily the end of your social life. In this piece, I will share with you some information that could help you recover your Facebook group and also help to keep it safe going forward.
Firstly let’s look at what a Facebook group is and what makes it different from a Facebook page.
A Facebook group is a platform created for a business or an organization to promote activities.
In Facebook group, users can join and have the ability to post their thoughts and interact using a discussion threads. For many years, before the introduction of page, Facebook group was a major platform used by businesses to bring users together to have discussions, but for the introduction of fan pages which later became likes in 2007 everything changed.
Though groups and pages are similar, they offer businesses and organizations different ways of reaching out to their audience.
Groups have the ability to message their members, and can as well restrict who can and cannot join them. But fan pages however have the advantage of being able to display information directly into their fans’ news feeds, and groups cannot do this.
It is also said that pages tend to have higher search engine optimization (SEO) opportunities than groups.
Unlike Facebook groups, pages rarely get disabled over violations as easily as the groups.
