Group urges Ndigbo, non-indegenes in Ondo to reelect Akeredolu

A socio-cultural group has called on Ndigbo and the non-indegenes in Ondo state to throw their weight behind the reelection bid of the incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu ahead of the Saturday election.

The group under the auspices of Ndigbo Patriotic Association said the governor deserved a second term in view of his developmental strides in the state.

Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, President General of the group, Mazi Obinna Okeke described the governor as fortright and honest, saying the people of the state were lucky to have him as governor.

He listed some of the achievements of the Governor to include the Ore industrial Park, Mother and Child Hospital in Ifon, the N9.2bn chocolate factory and the N4.2bn egg factory.

He said, “The people of the state are privileged to have such a fortright and honest man as a Governor.

“All the electorates, including Ndigbo and the non-indegenes should troop out enmass on Saturday to cast their votes for Akeredolu for continuity and sustainability of his laudable programmes.”

He also commended the wife of the governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for her passion towards driving gender equality and women development in the State.

He extolled her for some of her laudable initiatives like the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Ondo Widows Care and others which, acccording to him has positioned Ondo women for sustainable growth and development.
