Gov. Uzodimma sacks management of Imo Concorde Hotel

The Imo State Government, led by Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has dissolved the Interim Management Committee (IMC), of the Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri after not been satisfied by their performance,

In a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), J. O. Njoku made available to The Guardian yesterday, the governor, also appointed Ngozi Nwaizu, as the General Manager of the five – star state’s hospitality outfit.

Imo Concorde Hotel was established during the administration of the late Sam Mbakwe, about 40 years ago.

During the military administration, it suffered low patronage, leading to its dwindling revenue. It was later privatised.

Between 1998 and 1998, just on the onset of the Achike Udenwa administration, over N300 million was injected into it to resuscitate it.

Since then, the lifeline by the state government to the hotel has reduced.
