Gov Sule raises alarm over increase in COVID-19 cases in Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, has expressed concern over the rising case of the coronavirus pandemic.

He said the state so far has recorded 177 cases, with 7 deaths.

Engineer Sule made his feelings known while updating stakeholders at an expanded COVID-19 meeting held at Government House Lafiya.

He is particularly worried about the spread of the virus in Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas, that have so far recorded 76 and 30 confirmed cases respectively, mostly as a result of their proximity to do the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Furthermore the Governor disclosed that while 30 confirmed cases have gone into self-isolation, pending transfer to treatment centres, 87 out of the total confirmed cases have been released, having been treated and discharged.

Engr Sule used the opportunity of the meeting to inform stakeholders that the state is in receipt of 35 trucks of assorted food items donated by COCAVID, a private sector initiative.
