Gov. Sanwo-Olu Spotted Inside Public Transport Along Oshodi-Abule Egba Road [Video]

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has been seen inside a public bus enroute to commission the Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT corridor.

Video of the Lagos governor using the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), was shared on Twitter on Tuesday, August 11, by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Gawat Jubril A.

The Lagos State governor was seen in the short video waving at excited residents standing by the walkway, also making some non-verbal gestures.

“Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu using the BRT on his way to commission the Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT corridor which will improve the flow of traffic in that axis & assist residents’ journey time. #ForAGreaterLagos,” the media aide tweeted.

Barely one year and three months after his inauguration, the governor is set to commission the Oshodi-Abule Egba stretch of the BRT corridor.

Commenced in 2017, it is believed that the project would offer motorists and commuters relief on the corridor as the target is to decongest the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway which has long collapsed.

The DAILY VENDOR gathered that the first phase has 14 bus stations between Abule Egba and Oshodi.

While five of the stations face both sides of the expressway, the other nine are described as medium terminals. The project is supervised by the Lagos Metropolitan Transport Authority (LAMTA).

However, residents of Lagos and Ogun States have been calling for the rehabilitation of the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway from where the BRT corridor was created.
