Good Samaritan finds missing 9-year old girl in Anambra

A 9-year old girl, Chinaza Jedeofor was on Tuesday afternoon reportedly brought to the police station at Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State by a good Samaritan following her inability to trace her way home.

The victim, suspected to hail from Oka village, Uga in the same LGA of the State, was said to keep on mentioning one Aunty Chioma repeatedly.

The Police Public Relations Officer Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident in a statement, said she is presently in the protective care of the Umuchu Divisional Anti human trafficking unit pending identification of her parent or guardian.

He said, “On the 30/6/2020 at about 3:pm a good Samaritan brought to Umuchu Police Station a female child of about 9 years old who simply gave her name as Chinaza Jedeofor believed to have come from Oka village, Uga in Aguata LGA of Anambra State.

“She is 3 feet tall, dark in complexion and speaks only Igbo language fluently.

“The girl could neither find her way back home nor state where she hails from. Instead, she keep on mentioning one Aunty Chioma repeatedly. She is presently in the protective care of the Umuchu Divisional Anti human trafficking unit pending identification of her parent or guardian.

“Inview of the foregoing, you are kindly requested to dessiminate this massage through your medium to enable the biological parents or close relatives identify her.

“Anyone with useful information about the found child should report at Umuchu Divisional Police Station or contact PPRO Anambra State Police Command through GSM no 08060970639.”
