FRSC commences palliative work on failed portion of Onitsha-Awka expressway

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Sector Command on Wednesday embarked on paliative repairs of a failed portion of the Onitsha-Awka expressway.

The repairs was specifically on the road adjacent to Tansian University, Nkwelle.

The AG. Sector Public Education Officer, RC Margaret B Onabe, in a statement said the move was in line with FRSC 2022 Corporate Strategic goals (1)and(2) of accomplishing 15% reduction in Road Traffic Crash Fatality and Enhance Road Safety Partnership for Innovative Intervention.

The statement reads, “RS5.33 Nteje Unit Command in Collaboration with RS5.3 Anambra State Sector Command embarked on paliative repairs of a failed portion of the road adjacent to TANSIAN UNIVERSITY NKWELLE

“FRSC Anambra saw the need to intervene on the portion of the road because, the failed portion has been road traffic crash prone Area and also constitute nuisance to motoring public for a while now.

“The team was led by DCC OA Awassam, DCC Operations Anambra State Sector Command with the Assistance of SRC E OGUADIMMA, SRC Operations RS5.33 Nteje Unit Command and other officers and men from both Commands.

“Attached is the pictorial of the failed portion and after work done.”
