Former Crystal Palace owner says Man U job too big for Erik ten Hag

Former owner of Crystal Palace, Simon Jordan has says Manchester United job will prove too big for ‘small man’ Erik ten Hag.

Having been defeated in his first two games: a 2-1 loss to Brighton and a 4-0 bashing in the hands of Brentford, Ten Hag was jubilant on Monday night as his United side overcame Liverpool.

The Dutch manager was praised by some pundits for dropping Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire against Liverpool, but Jordan insisted that proved nothing – and was not impressed by the Dutchman’s post-match interviews.

Jordan said on the White and Jordan show: “Honestly, I looked at Ten Hag and thought that this job is going to be too big for him. That was my take away.

“I watched him step up at the end and I saw a small man in a suit that doesn’t fit him and I thought ‘you don’t look like I thought you would’”.

Erik ten Hag left Ajax for Manchester United in the summer and is tasked to turn things around at Old Trafford following series of poor performances that saw the 13-time Premier League champions finish 6th in the league last season.

Having defeated their arch-rivals over the weekend, the Red Devils will now hope to continue with this fine display in their next game away to Southampton on Saturday.
