LANDIKOTAL: Customs authorities foiled a bid to smuggle Saudi Riyals and arrested the peddler, officials said on Wednesday.
Additional collector customs enforcement Zakir Ahmad said that they stopped and searched a passenger identified as Saadullah and recovered 50,000 Saudi Riyals in his possession. He said that in the past one week they seized 15,000 US dollars at Torkham border. He said they have directed the custom staff st Torkham to ensure to block mmuggling of non custom paid items.
Polio workers staged protest: Polio workers deployed chanted their slogans in their demands. They were demanded for the increase their salaries and other previlages.
Alkhidmat distributed winter packages: Alkhidmat foundation distributed 50 winter packages among the jail inmates in Landikotal jail. Jamat Islami leader Murad Hussain and jail suprintendent Bilal Khan handed over the items to prisoners.
