Fire guts factory, destroys heavy-duty equipment in Rivers

Heavy-duty equipment worth millions, including chillers and generator sets, were on Saturday night destroyed in a fire incident that occurred inside a business facility in the Isiokpo axis of D/line in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The Daily Vendor Newspaper learnt that the fire started at about 10 pm and was said to have been triggered by an illegal diesel dump in a compound.

No life was however lost in the inferno.

Usman Ibrahim, a scrab dealer who was also affected by the disaster, disclosed that he lost over N 40million worth of goods.
