The popular social media giant, Facebook may change it’s name soon.
The name change could be finalized at the company’s annual meeting scheduled to hold next week.
This is according to the news agency Reuters, citing a report in The Verge.
However, Mark Zuckerberg’s company has so far dispelled the rumors.
But why is Facebook thinking of changing it’s name?
Although Facebook has emerged as a social media, it’s effectiveness is not limited to that. This is the world’s leading means of social communication committed to moving forward with a variety of services.
So Zuckerberg’s company wants to change the name, which gives a hint of Facebook’s expanded target.
Next Thursday, October 26, the annual conference of Facebook will take place. It is thought that the name change may be the main topic of Mark Zuckerberg’s speech at the event.
Note that WhatsApp, Instagram is also owned by Facebook but the company’s next goal is different. To spread themselves further, Facebook wants to create AR Glass by joining hands with a company like Ray Ban.
Zuckerberg believes that these glasses, which are very expensive at the moment, are out of reach in that sense. But if you take the right steps, it will soon be in everyone’s hands like a smartphone.
Needless to say, these glasses create their own cyberspace just like virtual reality, which can add another dimension to the experience of reality.
Facebook has such plans. However, Facebook did not comment on the rumors. Although the Verge claims that the matter will be made public next week.
It is however not yet clear whether Facebook will change its name or what their future plans will be.
