FAAN To Probe Allegations of It’s Officials Collecting Bribe To Help Returnees Evade Covid Tests

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has responded to allegations that some airports are collecting cash from passengers on evacuation flights.

The claim has been on that officials of the Nnamdi Azikiwe received bribe from some passengers to evade the stipulated isolation due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

In light of this, FAAN has urged returning passengers, especially of this category, not to give any international airport cash for service rendered and to report any official from any agency that requests money under any guise.

This was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu, who said that a formal investigation into the allegation is currently underway.

The statement by Yakubu reads thus in part; ”The recent allegation that some airport officials in Abuja were collecting money from returning passengers on evacuation flights is already being investigated by all agencies at the airport.
