In line with the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Abubakar Adamu’s directives towards ongoing reforms of Nigeria Police Force, especially as it concerns the activities of the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad, FSARS, and other special tactical units of the force, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. John Bassey Abang, has warned the personnel to respect the ongoing reforms or face the dire consequences.

The commissioner gave the warning yesterday when he summoned an emergency meeting with the Command Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, Special Anti-cult Section, SPACS, and other tactical commanders at the state command headquarters, Awka.

He also warned the officers to exhibit highest level of professionalism, civility and respect for Human Rights when discharging their duties, noting that any officer found wanting would be professionally and criminally liable for their actions.

The CP assured all ‘Ndi Anambra’ and residents that the command under his watch would continue to provide security for all citizens with civility, respect for Human Rights in accordance with the Rule of law and in line with internationally acceptable best practices. Abang equally directed the command monitoring unit, X Squad to go round the state and ensure strict compliance to the IGP’s order.
