Excitement as Police rescue 2-month old baby girl inside Anambra forest

It was excitement in Umueshi Village Nnokwa, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State following the rescue of a 2-month old baby girl inside the bush in the area.

The victim was reportedly abandoned by unknown person inside the bush and left crying.

She was said to have been rescued by Police operatives alive but very sick and had been rushed to Chukwu Nonso Hospital for medical attention.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed said the baby is gradually responding to treatment.

He said, “On the 4/8/2020 the Commander Nnokwa Vigilante group in Umueshi Village Nnokwa ,Idemili South LGA of Anambra State reported at Nnobi Police Station that a baby girl of about 2 months old was abandoned by unknown person inside Nnokwa bush and left crying.

“Following the report, police operatives visited the scene, rescued the baby alive but very sick and rushed her to Chukwu Nonso Hospital for medical attention.

“Meanwhile, the baby is gradually responding to treatment and will be handed over to the Social Welfare for proper care while effort is ongoing to trace the parent in order to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident
