EndSARS protesters in Enugu State, on Monday, announced that they would embark on candle light procession on Tuesday and Wednesday night in honour of those killed before and during the protest against police brutality, extrajudicial killings and extortion.
The protesters who addressed journalists at the Michael Okpara Square, Enugu during commencement of the Monday’s protest, said the candle light procession for Tuesday would take place at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, while Wednesday procession would be held at Michael Okpara Square.
Mr Mcginger Ibeneme and Mr Chinedu Anichi spoke on behalf of the protesters, said that the era of promises without action was over, adding that they would sustain the protests until their demands were fully implemented.
According to Ibeneme, the protest is in solidarity with innocent people that have been killed over the years by police and other security agents without justice for them.
He said “we are gathered here this morning in solidarity to the #EndSARS protest that is happening all over the country. “
