Emeka Offor foundation shares bags of rice, wrappers to widows in Anambra

…the Emeka Offor foundation also promises to build 50 houses for the widows

No fewer than 2000 widows and indigents in Oraifite, Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State have received 2000 50kg bags of rice and 2500 wrappers from Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, a Non-governmental organization.

The foundation also promised to build 50 houses for the widows before the end of first quarter of 2023, in addition to the ones earlier built for other widows in the area.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries on Thursday, Chairman of the foundation, Sir Emeka Offor said he decided to put smiles of the faces of the less privileged in appreciation of God’s blessings upon his life.

He said, “The foundation will complete additional 50 houses for widows in the community by the first quarter of next year.

“So far, foundation for 18 houses have been laid and by January, we will lay foundation for 32 which must be completed by first quarter of the 2023.

“The stipends being given to the widows and indigent people in the community will be reviewed upward because of the high inflation.

“I am grateful that God has used me to touch lives in the community, Anambra State and Nigeria at large.

“When I look back where I was coming from, I give thanks and glory to God for where I am today. I will continue to serve God through the service to man kind.”

Describing life as worthless without education, Offor revealed plans to commence adult education for the widows next year, which he said would assist them find their bearing in the society.

One of the beneficiaries, Felicia Chikelu said the foundation built house for her following maltreatment she and her kids suffered from her husband’s relatives.

“The foundation decided to build a house for me and my children after discovering that my late husband’s relations were maltreating us. It also put my family in monthly stipend.

Another beneficiary, Ngozi Chukka said she would remain eternally grateful to the Foundation for putting smiles on the faces of her family.

 “When my husband died things became tough and I cannot take care my children. The foundation gave us hope in our hopelessness brought happiness to my life and family,” he added.
