Eid-el Maulud: Christian Clerics in Kaduna urge Muslims to Pray for an end to insecurity in Nigeria

The General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry  in  Kaduna state, Pastor Yohanna Buru and his fellow Christian clerics, have felicitated with Muslims Worldwide on the occasion of Maulud celebration marking the birth of the prophet Mohammed(PBUH). 

Pastor Buru in a press statement issued to The Daily Vendor Newspaper in Kaduna tasked Muslims to use the occasion for the promotion of peaceful coexistence and inter-religious tolerance in the country.

He said, over 100 Christian scholars across the north have started sending congratulatory messages to Muslims, Imams and Alaramma with the aims of felicitating with them on the birth of prophet Mohammed, so as to promote better understanding, religious tolerance, peace, love and unity. 

He stressed that celebrating the birth of Prophet Mohammed goes beyond Muslims alone, simply the Prophet is for every one irrespective of tribe, culture, color, continent and region, as he preached peace, love, unity and tolerance throughout his life.

According to him for many years, they have been celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ at his church to strengthen Christian – Muslims relations and to foster peace and unity among Nigerians.

The Pastor further disclosed that he had read many books about the Holy Prophet on the various roles he played in promoting peaceful coexistence among different faiths and his exemplary religious tolerance.

Also in his message to Muslims,  Pastor Paul John called on Muslims to use the occasion to pray for the unity of the nation, addding that many Muslims join us every year during Christmas services to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. 

“We congratulate Muslims all over the world and wish them all the best, we want them to use the holiday toward praying for peace and stability in the country”. 

On his part, Pastor Joel Zigo from Southern Kaduna says “we are one family under God, we must live together in peace with one another to make Nigeria great”

He then called on Imam and Pastors to continue to pray for Nigerian Military on peace mission, while praying to almighty God to help them toward succeeding in all their operation

He equally called on states and Federal Government to bring an end to the security challenges bedeviling the country.

Also, Pastor Joshua Ahmed stressed the need for Muslims and Christians to keep praying to Almighty God to bring an end to Covid 19 pandemic and general insecurity challenges bedeviling peace and stability in the country. 

He noted that he always participated in Maulud celebration to strengthen Christian- Muslim relations in the state and other neighbouring States as the harmattan season approaches.

He called on wealthy individuals and organizations to support the needy, and provide food and clothing to orphanage homes, as the harmattan season begins.
