Eid-el Kabir: Enugu LG boss visits Hausa community

The chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon. Emeka Onunze on Friday joined Moslem faithful in the area to mark this year’s the Eid-el Kabir celebration.

Hon. Emeka Onunze, who was accompanied by other stakeholders in the area met with leaders of the Hausa community in the local government where he urged them to use the period to promote the spirit of peace which he said was one of the pillers of Islam.

He assured that his government was ready to give different religious groups a sense of belonging as such was a mark of responsible governance.

While distributing over 200 pieces of facemasks and some cash gifts to them, Hon Onune charged them to maintain the attitude of social distancing and other COVID-19 protocols.

In his response, the spokesman of the Muslim Community in Enugu State, Yusuf Sambo Abubakar thanked the chairman for his benevolence and for finding time to celebrate with them describing Hon Onunze as a detribalised leader and father of all.
