A COMMUNIQUÉ RAISED BY THE EBONYI LOCAL GOVERNMENT P.D.P STAKEHOLDERS FOLLOWING THE DEFECTION OF THE GOVERNOR TO THE ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS
The Ebonyi Local Government People’s Democratic Party (P.D.P) Chapter, in earnest and high sense of concern, condemned and disassociates herself from the political prostitution of the desperate, greedy, insatiable and treacherous politicians who, out of their egocentric and self-centred ambitions defected to the All Progressive Congress and also reinstate our commitment to the growth and development of the largest party in the continent of African (P.D.P)
In chagrin, but not surprised as a party, we wonder why some political jobbers should jettison the party that has been so fair and considerate to the “Ndi Igbo race” in appointment and other elective positions since the Inception of this Republic. As a people, we are Indebted to P.D.P for the opportunity they have given to the South-East to serve in various positions of trust capacities of governance which are but not limited to the following.
The Senate President,
The Secretary to the government of the Federation
Deputy Senate President,
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives
Chief of Army Staff,
Chief of Naval Staff,
Super ministers such as
The minister of finance and Coordinating Economy
Aviation,
Education,
Ambassadors in different super countries of the world,
The Inspector general of police for the first time in the annals of the Nigerian police force and most importantly, for the opportunity given to Engr. David Umahi to serve as its state chairman (P.D.P) Deputy governor and two times governor of our dear state Ebonyi.
Comparatively, and unfortunately, the A.P.C led Administration from its inception, never for once regarded the south-east geopolitical zone of these positions even the federal character which is their constitutional rights has been erroneously denied and in this premise, we are rigidly affirming that the collective welfares of the south-east, Ebonyi State and Ebonyi Local Government by extension cannot be guaranteed in the said political party.
Without prejudice to the above statement, as a party we are very much conscious of the fact, that P.D.P as a party is yet to zone its presidential ticket to the south-east neither has the opposite done such, but as democrats, we believed in the principle of negotiation dialogue, compromise and party supremacy as the only means of achieving our collective will.
In resume, we shared our good will with the National Working committee of our great party, under the Leadership of chief Uche Secondus, the South-east caretaker committee led by our illustrious son, Ali Odefa, the state caretaker committee under the leadership of Elder Fred Udogu and most importantly, for finding our own amiable son, Barr. Obinna Iteshi worthy to serve in the capacity of the Youth Leader.
The Ebonyi Local Government P.D.P chapter is more united, stronger and resolute now than ever and can be never be deterred by the nefarious and treacherous activities of the over ambitious, selfish, inordinate, naïve and jejune politicians who have mortgaged our collective will for personal interest in disguise of general welfare. Finally, with the determination and unity among our members herein, we are very much convinced that by 2023, we will rescue our dear state from the hands of oligarchies, tyrannies and dictators and the soil shall be salty again while the taste of the salt shall be felt once more by the citizens of our dear state and local government respectively.
Congratulations to the P.D.P family and the good people of the Ebonyi local government for your solid supports in the face of fascists and totalitarians.
