Covid-19 Update: Nigeria Records 276 New Cases

NCDC has announced that 246 people tested positive for coronavirus in Nigeria on Saturday.

It also added that the coronavirus infections in the country have exceeded 66,000 confirmed cases as the braces for a second wave of the pandemic.

According to health experts, as the yuletide season draws near, Nigerians are warned to avoid mass gatherings and events during the festive period.

Meanwhile, a person died was reported to have died on Saturday from the virus, taking the deaths toll for last week to four and bringing the total fatality from the virus to 1,166.

The 246 new cases were reported from 11 states- Lagos (66), Plateau (63), FCT (48), Kaduna (21), Bayelsa (19), Rivers (12), Niger (9), Ogun (4), Ekiti (2), Bauchi (1) and Osun (1).

Lagos remains the hot-spot recording the highest daily figures with 66 new cases on Sunday

The commercial city has recorded nearly 23,000 infections and about 220 deaths.
