COVID 19: Health workers raise alarm over shortage of PPE at ATBUTH


Health Workers at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi are decrying the shortage of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) thereby exposing them to dangers of contracting COVID 19.

An insider source who spoke with THE DAILY VENDOR on condition of anonimity said “we are afraid to attend to patients in the hospital due to the insufficient PPE”

According to sources most of the consultants refuse to attend to patients due to the shortage of the PPEs.

Our source stated that the very few ones available could not go round to key health workers in the hospital and “you know these things cannot be sharred between users” .

THE DAILY VENDOR gathered that it has become a thing of concern for the management team of the hospital bearing in mind the upsurge of COVID 19 cases of recent in Bauchi State.

The health worker expressed worry that the state also share boundary with some states with high incidences of COVID 19 and it also has high number of itinerary traders who go to Lagos and Kano to purchase different commodities.
